My 2017 Prius Two Eco has an intermittent problem where multiple warning messages and lights will come on. The warning messages change. The messages are related to ABS, braking, radar cruise control, lane departure warning, etc. There seems to be a correlation between cold weather and moisture, as the problem occurs more often in cold and wet conditions. Roughly 70% of the time it does not show any warning messages. The obd2 port is not pulling any codes. I just bought the car. The Hood will not close all the way which is a clue that it has had some kind of front end damage but no accident on the Carfax. Thank you in advance for any insight you may have.
If no insurance claim, police report, or reputable large chain repair shop has touched the car - nothing will show up on Carfax. That's why it's so important to take a used car to a trusted mechanic for an evaluation. That's money well spent, if you know nothing about cars. Issues with the ABS system/wiring will cause a cascade failure of radar/cruise control. Those are disabled because the ECU can't properly see or brake the car. Someone probably turned off functions to extinguish the CEL, so they can sell the car to an unsuspecting buyer. I've even seen black electrical tape over the CEL, behind the odometer glass. Bottom line - buyer beware... Hope this helps. PS. Have the car scanned with Toyota certified OBDII scanner.
Yes if it's never been changed it's a 6 year old battery. Wouldn't hurt to also get Dr Prius app and test the hybrid battery as well
