Prius is 2011. I'm concerned that rodents could get inside and damage or destroy this exposed wiring. I'm wondering why it is not covered in some way by the manufacturer.
if you have rodents, you have a lot more wiring to worry about than that.covering it up doesn't work.
No rodents, which is likely due to the steps I took over a year ago to screen off all entry points. And would you care to explain how covering up access to wiring would not prevent rodents from damaging it? I suppose they could find a way to breach a flimsy shield, but something more sturdy like steel mesh - like I used for the entry points - would probably do the trick, if well attached.
Yeah you could actually screen up that all you want If you live in an area where rodents want to go after that soy wire or the covering is of the wire has some soy in it I guess that's why they go after it absolutely I can't imagine where you live I'm in Central North Carolina very little to none of those problems but it does happen Will you stop it I kind of doubt it I see acorns under the hood of everything we drive around here The squirrels aren't doing anything they're just hiding nuts and hanging out I don't have any wires chewed on anything here but I've got acorns stashed everywhere
Then again I go through some extensive steps to make sure that the wildlife here on my property is well fed squirrels raccoons snakes all of it I try to make sure that they are not running around here hungry so they don't need to chew on my car wires they have real food
it would take some kind of wire mesh to prevent it, but toyota doesn't care about that. there's unprotected wire all over the car.

So it seals the seam between the hood and fender? On both sides? Grill blocking? No overheating in summer? Sorry for stealing the thread for these questions... Mat
Yes to all. I almost forget they’re there lol. I do a cautious grill block in winter too, typically just 50% of the lower opening. Our winters are quite mild, southwest coast of Canada.
Almost the same Latitude here - Poland. Maybe, I'll try it this winter. I drive with the lower grill blocked permanently to 100% and monitoring temperatures whole year round. Stopping this digression now - sorry Mat
