need help with getting a cheaper catalytic converter for my 2007 Toyota Prius that has 225000 miles but drives well. any idea where to go? I live in Houston TX
Does your car still have to pass emissions in Texas? In North Carolina my county I just have safety only so I can have a straight pipe there so if the cat was stolen I can put a straight exhaust pipe in knock off some of the flanges etc and so forth and just have a pipe no problem I'm sure there are other states where this is easily done too for cars that are from some certain year or in some cases they just don't have emissions in certain given counties look into it maybe. If you have to pass emissions whether it be them plugging up to the car or what have you you're going to want to stay with the Toyota cat because that's the only thing that has a good possibility of keeping the check engine light off for any kind of time the aftermarket cats seem to have the light back on very quickly and then there's predominantly no fix maybe spacing the downstream cat O2 sensor out of the loop a little farther away sometimes that can work someplace is can try and also fail that.
