This 2007 Prius came with the triangle light and came with code 264 as detail code. The car is not charging 12v battery. I changed the inverter with another car own and the inverter works fine on the other car. When I returned it to the car, it will not charge the 12v battery. If I jump start the car, it will start but the moment I remove the cable, it will discharge the battery and go off. Who as experienced this before. I need advice on what to do. The car keep going off @bisco
Back in the battery area the 12 volt is the sense wire connected and seated good that's the single white wire coming out over there on the far right of the black plastic terminal mount for the plus side of the battery have a look not the fat white wire that kills the whole 12 volt system in the car if you unplug it so that's good for it quick reset The one next to it to the right of that the single thin wire Make sure that's not about to break that needs to be connected there so that the inverters circuit can sense the state of charge of the 12 volt. Check it out
P0a08 DC)DC converter circuit status. I tested the battery and it was 11v. I jump start the battery to 12.35v and the car would start but it goes off in few minutes as it is not charging the 12v battery. I load test it when the car is on but the battery voltage drops and the car would go off
Let me add one thing I did. I jump start the Prius with another Prius and it worked perfectly while the wire for jump start was connected. But the moment I disconnect the cable, it throws the triangle light with the code p0a08 inverter circuit status.
Battery nearly stone cold dead. OR.....depending on that connection points you are using for the jump, you might be "bypassing" a bad main battery connection when you do that.
I think you need a new 12v, the car won’t charge it that fast. Can you try the one from the jump start car?
Thanks Thanks car fixed. The cable from the inverter assembly came off that is why the car was no charging the 12v battery. It was connected and the car works perfectly now. Thanks.
It just fell off? Was work previously done in this area? I don't recall reading in this forum about that cable ever spontaneously detaching.
