I'm looking to buy a prius with car camping as my top priority and can't find a general thread for the PIP dimensions with seats down/front seats pushed all the way up and if these dimensions differ between a 13 and a 15 for example.
they are all the same. i can measure the back of mine tomorrow if you want. keep in mind gen 3 (2010-2015) has a head gasket issue
About 6'7" long. 3'3" wide at the narrowest point between the shocks. Cozy for two. Spacious for one. You need to get the right tote, etc. set-up for behind the front seats to build that area up to a flat surface.
Front seats pushed all the way forward (and presumably fully upright) dimension will avoid the vagaries of seat adjustment, but you’ll need to take it with a grain of salt; driving the car with the seats thus would be very uncomfortable, maybe dangerous/impossible. Maybe get that dim, then deduct 4~5 inches. Recent load in our non-plug-in attached; the stacked tires are 25” OD, and rims are nominal 15”. Front Seats are just in their regular position, maybe halfway back, tilted back a couple of clicks. The rearmost rims are about as far back as possible; if they were any taller they’d prevent the hatch closing. BTW, driving with hatch open you get a relentless beep. I did this once, thought I could spoof hatch closed by pushing a carabiner into the latch, but either you can’t or I just didn’t have optimum carabiner shape. I just endured it.
