Can someone tell me what this is? Or if it's essential?

I found this piece of rubber hanging under my car when I came home 2 nights ago. I noticed it was lodged into the driver side rear wheel house mud flap/protect guard thing. Can anyone please tell me if this is an important part or just some piece of rubber that managed to get lodged into my mud flap. Thank you.

Super cool the way that photo looks like your coax cable going into your house is part of the strange rubber thing... It's almost like you didn't look under your car to establish what it's role was and started a Q-anon theory about how they're following you with advanced surveillance technology. I bet the outcasts on Twitter will help you figure it out.

Looks like a bit of butyl sealer (used to fill gaps and cracks on roads) got kicked up and stuck to the belly of your car.

I don't recognize it as anything important to a Prius.

Agreed. I don't think it is a part from your car.
