Well it's about past time to be changing them pull them out take pictures whatever but change them those are generally hundred thousand mile plugs under ideal conditions so you might want to have a look or whatever.

I find this a little bit odd...like boasting how old your socks are.

Spark plugs are a wear item and should be replaced BEFORE you start having misfire problems (unless you plan on just replacing all the coils at the same time anyways).

I guess there aren't too many people here who knew what it was like in "the good old days" of old cars. You had to replace breaker points, condenser, plugs, cap, rotor, plug wires - typically around 30,000 miles. Sooner if your engine burned oil and fouled the plugs.

Agree and they still run fine. The ignition system burns through oil and coolant.

I couldn't afford anything remotely new when I started driving. My first (very used) car needed valve adjustments twice a year, wheel bearing re-packs and spark plugs annually. Can't remember how often I needed to set dwell angle or change points.

After a couple of years I was good at doing it all myself with a toolkit that weighed less than 10lbs and stayed under the back seat.

I am guessing mine are at 110k+ miles. The person I got the car from always changed the oil and filters, but told me today she never changed the spark plugs. So I will be doing that next weekend,
