    Hey guys,

There is a plastic seal that goes on top of the cowl assembly where it touches the bottom of the windshield.
It is some sort of a seal but not made of rubber; more like a plastic and it snaps onto the cowl at the top edge.

And this piece is falling apart in my 2010 Prius. It is cracked everywhere.

I looked for the part number for this item for days and I cannot find it. My fear is that it is not offered separately from the cowl assembly which costs hundreds of dollars.

    Am I correct?
If so, what are my options?

Refering to the tiny strip along the top edge of the cowl assembly.
My finger is pointing it in the picture.

I found the image you posted and tried every possible part number but couldn't find it.

Yeah suspect it’s not a separate part no, for just that rubber top strip; you need to buy whole thing. Check with a local Toyota dealership parts department to verify?

How nice (and profitable) is it for Toyota to sell the whole thing for a few hundred $$$ when you only need that plastic strip that is worth just a few $$$.

If a part is removable (it is in this case), it should have its own part number and be available separately.

I took a look at one of the small end pieces; I think they’re similar? Indeed the rubber edging slides in, locks. Unfortunately though, looks like they did some sort of heat crimping at a couple of spots. Does the main piece also have those? Seems unnecessary: the strip would be very stable without the heat crimp, can barely shift anyways, and yeah, frustrating.

Yes, I realized those heat crimps, but those can be worked out easily. That plastic material is severely deteriorated in my car. It falls apart when I touch it.
What do I do now? Go buy the whole thing new and pay over $200? This is ridiculous.

I am facing this same issue. What did you end up doing?
