The manual says the air conditioner and audio can be run while charging the car, but are the AC outlets active too? In which case one could presume car-supplied AC power would be drawn from the charger like the other accessories. True? This would suit the situation where the car is powering AC equipment when charging power is intermittent/disabled, such as when off-grid using solar panels for AC to charge the traction battery during daytime.
No, the mains power outlets only function in READY. And you can't go into READY with the charger connected.
Wait! There's AC outlets? Where? I've got an inverter I've added to the 12v battery in the back. Those are always on or always off, some of the new ones have BT apps to turn on our off. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Don't know whether they're available in the US, but in Japan, there's a 1500W mains outlet on the back of the centre console, and one on the left side of the load area. In (most of?) Europe you get the one in the load area. (Maybe just because an EU mains plug wouldn't fit on the centre console?)
Cad model but the Primes come with two outlets. One 2 prong in the center console of the back seats and 3 prong in the trunk. There's a switch on the lower left of the driver's seat to turn them on. Should be 1500W combined.
Can confirm, you can't activate the 1500w inverter while charging, even if the car is in "My Room" mode
