2013 Prius V, 78 000 miles, the Brakes still working fine but I have to press the pedal all the way down when I start the car, then while driving the brakes pedal goes back to normal. Checking with Dr Prius OBD I get the code that the hybrid battery has to be replaced. After applying the erase error codes with Dr Prius the brakes work fine, but go back to being soft after a short time.
Are you sure its a soft pedal versus poor braking? These cars are brake by wire so normal rules for direct hydraulic brakes don't apply. Dr Prius may not be reading brake codes. No warning lights like VSC, etc? I would take it to a dealer for diagnosis given brakes are important and gen3 has issues with brake boosters.. Odds are a 2013 is beyond the ten year limit of this program but maybe...
Thanks for all this great advice, especially the ten year program. I will take it to the dealer to get error codes diagnosed. I need to add all the Lit up symbols: Brake Brake system warning light ABS warning light Slippery road Symbol
If not covered you may want to decline their diagnoses.... and get techstream on amazon..... But I can see a dealer diagnoses might be better for you....... use caution........$$$$$
