Hi! Somewhat of an odd question, pardon me. I own a CT200h (the forum there is pretty slow). The AC in the CT is the best AC i have experienced in a car. I was wondering if the Prius and the CT and the Auris Hybrid (all 2011 cars) share the same AC unit. Also, anyone can help me with the part itself? Part number? (I live in a very warn place - thank you)
Probably not identical, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that they shared many components and delivered identical performance.
What is the problem? The variable speed three phase electric compressors rarely fail but the condensers or evaporators have been known to leak. Charge is critical as is the special oil. Most likely they are the same compressor.
By by looking at the cars I have access to them both I would say the air conditioning system is probably pretty much identical You can look at Toyota Lexus parts breakdowns and see the components and what have you I don't know what you're trying to replace so it's hard to advise It's pretty much warm all over the world these days.
Good for her and you posting this info!!! Unfortunately, science is mystified why this warming trend is happening, right? It surely can't be the mountains of coal and oceans of oil mankind has sent into the atmosphere..... If only there where a cleaner way....
I love these puzzle posts. I'm going to take one of these posts and add commas, periods, line breaks and paragraphs to try to totally change the meaning of what is trying to be said. (voice to txt can be done correctly. It's not that hard to say "comma", "period", etc.....)
Thank you. Still trying to figure out if the AC unit in the CT200h (2011) is EXCACTLY the same as the one in the Auris Hybrid (2011). How do I go about checking this? Is there a website where I can see the part? Thx again!
No, it is not. They were manufactured for a different country. Each has its own specs for government requirments. The are similar though. You would have to get repair manuals for each and compair them. Or perhaps go to the dealership and try to find out the differences from them.
If I'm not mistaken, the ct200h included a dual-zone automatic system where the Auris hybrid would only have a single-zone automatic system. So that's a different control setup and a different air box, but there's still a fair chance the two cars share a lot of the same major parts (evaporator, compressor, condenser) for their systems.
What parts is it that you want to change on the Auris to the CT200h. Looking on most parts websites you can see what numbers are different If not all of them but generally seriously if the dash is similar shaped the firewall and all of that similar shaped a lot of these boxes and air boxes and stuff can be moved around If you have your existing air box in your auris. You may be able to exchange cores and what have you and make things work I have no idea but generally that's how a lot of this stuff is gone in the past for me Air conditioning is not that hard to swap pieces of from very similar framed series of vehicles If you're firewall is similar things like that engines what have you lots of times the line sets and all that are going to be routed the same and what have you a little bend here and there and you can be in great shape to say that the whole system will just swap over and it's kind of a crap shoot the dual zones and all this kind of stuff those are just going to be controlled inside the box that allow you to or the computer to move air dampers to two different zones etc You may be able to even fit that to your vehicle and the necessary controls to control it whether you want to carry it that far or not is unknown are you fitting air conditioning to a car that has none?
