In PA? How tall . I own both the gen 3 and the generation 2 I would say for sleeping they both seem to be about the same length of trunk area folded down seats etc might be a tad more space in the gen 3 for floor space and what have you but I don't really think so and I would hate to be trying to run things in the generation 3 like while I'm asleep air conditioning heat what have you but gen 3 seem to have more power like problems than the two but that may just be me seeing that The newer things get the more dainty wiring and things seem to become just look inside of the old inverter between the generation two and three things like that.

First of all, it is very expensive, and secondly, its MPG is very low.

Why do we have to sleep in the car I'd usually set up my tent personally and then I have my space I just pull off the road plenty of places to find go up off the road where they can't see me pitch my tent. I'm not sure what you're doing just riding around and living like a nomad nothing wrong with that but uppity people get weird you know like will teasel and John Rambo depends on what stickers are on your bumper and all that you know appearances are everything but supposedly mean nothing.

because compared to any non hybrid vehicle, the cost of fuel to sleep in a climate controlled environment would be astronomically higher than that of a Hybrid. Imagine trying to sleep with the motor in a Tahoe or even 4Runner running all night to keep your temperatures cozy for sleeping, I'd imagine one would wake up with a severely drained fuel tank. Also, the level of comfort from sleeping in the Prius is by far significantly greater then any tent, even if a diesel heater is used like most Overlanders use.

Also, I am slightly uppity myself even though I came from humbled beginnings or what some call project housing living as a child. I kid you not, when I park at any of the Orange County beaches or in any uppity neighborhood, everyone loves it and the concept once its explained. The general perception is not what you'd think, particularly compared to a van dweller or even someone with a sprinter. The Prius and is chameleon like talents, blends in and no ones the wiser that I'm with a lady I met on the beach in the back of my Prius. :) Ladies love the Overlanding Prius!

Yeah all of that I get it no problem so then doing that in a you know one of these other hybrids that's larger you know yeah you'd use more gas but certainly you'd be in a living room on wheels people that do this in sprinter vans and RAM equals Mercedes equals all of that generally have solar panels on the roof small battery bank hidden away in storage in the vehicle etc of course they're buying $100,000 setups to go do this with so they can make content or whatever they call it these days. Regardless if Orange county beach patrol or whoever it is out that way runs up on you whether you're in a Prius or a $500,000 sprinter van you going to have some conversation that may not be so good I don't know personally I know this day and age law enforcement and the like don't take too kindly to people sleeping and living well in vehicles especially in tourist areas like the beach Venice Beach and all that kind of thing but that's just my way of thinking about it I wouldn't be camping out in California beaches to me that would be a perfect way to get harassed and possibly shot and killed just because and I don't think it's just because of a necessarily a color thing or any of that it's just a crazy people thing. Hell I wouldn't even do that in North Carolina at the beach I drive my happy little rear end out into the county about 6 mi from the beach where nobody's going to bother me there's millions of places.

At first, I had no grand plans other than to wander the country, exploring its monuments, national parks, and other landmarks while everyone else was stuck in lockdown due to COVID-19. But then I stumbled upon BLM land, and that changed everything. The days of camping at local campgrounds were behind me. The Prius, just for me, was perfect. Over time, I've tweaked and customized it, realizing exactly what I wanted: an AWD Turbo Hybrid capable of tackling rugged 4x4 trails. Plus, a panoramic glass roof was non-negotiable for my next ride.
I considered upsizing, but the Rav4 was pretty much the same size, and as a 6'2" guy, that worked fine. The Highlander was a no-go, and the Sequoia felt too large. So, I recently decided on the TL500h+. That's where I placed my deposit. It's amusing how some people don't understand my choice. They ask why not something bigger, something more capable. But for me, it's all about the Prius and unlocking its full potential. It's been reliable, even when encountering law enforcement several times. A quick chat, a business flyer exchange, and most times even a photo for social media, and they never even asked to see my ID! Now, I tell all black folks, get a Prius! For the simple fact every big motor car I owned had the front windshield tinted and I got pulled over more than once for it. In the Prius, guess how many times? 0

I don't judge or assume based on appearances. I understand that my perspective will never align perfectly with any situation, regardless of how strongly I believe in it. Each encounter with law enforcement felt surreal, like a scene from a hidden camera show. If those moments were captured and condensed into a 60-second video, I'd wager both my Prii that it could change perceptions of African American men's interactions with law enforcement.

The world is more and better than you can imagine it to be...
