After replacing my abs pump in my 2007 prius with 150k, I found that my ac was not putting out cold air. The fan blows at every setting, and heat works perfect. I looked up the codes and found that they are for the air outlet control servo motor. Is the motor likely bad and needs replaced, or could it be a bad connection or wire? I’m also curious about how to get to the servo motor if it does need work because I know its location is pretty hard to reach in the gen 2.

The outlet servo is on the driver side, same side as the air mix servo. The mix one is a little easier to access if I remember right, and the outlet one is the one further up, toward the firewall. Might be pretty tight up there without moving the brake ECU and/or go pedal out of the way.

A problem with the outlet servo doesn't really explain your "not putting out cold air" description. Are you able to change where the air comes out (floor, face, windshield)? That's what the outlet servo does.

As far as I remember I am able to change where the air comes out of. So that is a little confusing. Those were the only two codes blinking on the screen, unless they are for something else and I got incorrect information. 33 and 43. Is it possible it could be just the refrigerant needs topped up? I also was wondering if something I did during the abs caused the AC to break or if it just coincidentally broke right after I fixed the brake problem. I know I did disconnect the plug for the compressor at the inverter to move it, but I can’t see how that could be loose at all given it has a very complex connector that needs to be locked in place. Is there any way to inspect that my compressor is operating correctly. I know I can listen for it but I don’t know what I should hear. Everybody puts videos of what you don’t want to hear and not what a good compressor sounds like.

So right now when you turn on the air conditioner on low high fan fresh air full blast and you lift the hood is the fat line coming from the compressor getting cold If you put your hand on the compressor it's not belt driven you can't get hurt Do you feel the compressor running and whining If you shut it off. You definitely hear it's off when it's on is the fat line again getting cold? If so your compressor's making cold need to find out why it's not getting in the cabin. Seems to me like something's disconnected maybe a fuse is blown something I had problems with this in my generation 3 after replacing a bunch of parts.

I did try to feel if the line was getting cold but I’m not sure if it was or not. I guess it might have felt a little colder while it was running but I would expect it to be ice cold right. I will check the fuses once I get a chance, but I thought that a lot of the ac fuses or relays were integrated into a whole section and you can check or replace them individually. What ended up being your problem?

What ended up being my problem well it depends which car and none of them were complicated. So if your air conditioner compressor is verified on you hear it running you feel it with your hand if you have to wait until the engine turns off and it's just running on battery then touch it You will know that it's running and if on the low side gauge you have around 30 to 40 lb right in there somewhere you're compressor should be pumping gas at least on the low side anyway And that fat line should start getting cold I mean cold cold You don't want to move your hand If not. You probably need to stop right there. It looks like you're going to need to get the system vacuumed down unfortunately and see what they pull out All Toyota systems in most of the vehicles hold about 1.3 lb of gas refrigerant gas and then go from there. Fill it up see if you have a low side when the compressor's on see what the high side reading is on a 80 90° day should be heading up around 2:30 2:40 I think and that fat line will be cold and if not you could have an expansion valve problem if you're pumping out the proper high side pressure anywhere close to it I would say your compressor's pumping just fine. If the system has an expansion valve in the case it is remotely possible it's wreaking havoc. And from what I understand it looks like your whole dash is coming out generally for these cars it's not worth it I just get another rolling chassis personally I can have all my stuff on it in a day. Paperwork can be fudged where I am so it's not a worry.

My Prius also has same code, 21, 33, 43. My prius AC just stop working 2 weeks ago . No cold air.
I check other post, 33 is HVAC Recirculation door actuator motor problem. This part just locate near the brake pedal. 2 screws secure it. Not difficult to replace. You can find a video in Youtube about it. . And only cost $40 on ebay. I want to give it a try. I just order it. I will update the post to see if it fix the AC or not after I change this part.
43 is ABS problem. My ABS light always on, but my car ABS still good when drive, just need to refill the brake oil every month.

    Hmmm.

If you need to refill the brake fluid regularly, where is it leaking out?

Want to be careful about the information here. If you were looking for the Recirculation door actuator, I'm afraid you would find that one to be on the other side of the heater, behind the glove box, difficult to access without dash removal.

But the codes you have given, 33 and 43, I believe are about the air outlet door actuator, and that one is in the location you are thinking. So you're in luck there. You just stumbled unluckily on some other post that called it the wrong thing.

I replace the ABS Anti-lock pump actuator last year. One of the connections has some leak after replacement. So I need to refill the brake oil every month.

Thanks for your advice. I am still new to Prius.
