Wife was driving her car and when she was coming off the highway she noticed the car felt sputtery, vibration, or rough feeling. I drove it around the neighborhood and felt the same thing while idling down the street. I turned off the ac to see if I noticed a change and nothing changed. However when I pressed the brake everything went away and the car idled smoothly. I continued driving on idle and it stayed this way. Then I pressed the gas and as soon as the bar on the ECO Mode passed half way the roughness started again. The indicator for mpg also dropped down very low. I idled for a little to see if anything changed and nothing. Then I pressed the brake and then again it went back to being smooth and I saw the mpg bar go back to full while idling. I've read through a few other threads and have seen people say spark plugs or maybe the battery is going. I am at 150,000 miles.

Clean your map and MAF sensor and see if that reduces the mess I clean the map first then take it for a test and see if it's gotten less of that noise then clean off the MAF see if it gets even less If it gets a lot less by a map sensor and try it. I'm in the middle of this right now I've never seen a car run so bad and sound like it's about to blow up from a map sensor but I cleaned mine and everything got real smooth now it only does it like when it first started to happen rarely so I'm going to replace the map sensor and see if that cleans the mess up for good but it seems like it will that also throws the code for poor engine performance obviously because it's running so badly at least mine does

Are you certain that the engine was actually running when you thought it was idling? Normally the engine would be stopped when you're braking at low speeds. It would be rotating but not running under its own power in the normal sense (which requires burning fuel) when you're braking at higher speeds.

Ever cleaned the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (aka EGR) system, including the intake manifold?

I understand your pain in the 2011 buddy mine stutters a little bit and if I hit the brake or put it in neutral it stops and my ice engine is running because if I step through that stutter with the gas pedal I'm running 75 mph down to 35 mph road very quickly and the ice engine is running stutter free no skipping no nothing so? Weird. There's a bunch of stuff lit up in orange in TIS but no standing or held codes or DTCs.
