I have searched and searched, but could not find any guide on how to swap out a non heated manual Prius passenger seat to a CT200H manual heated seat. It sounds straight forward, but it is not as you would think.

After you disconnect the 12 volt battery and hybrid battery safety plug, you can start unbolting the seat.

After seat bolts are removed, you can tilt back the seat to unplug the two wiring connectors. One is is the yellow airbag connector and the other is the seat sensor/seat belt clip connector.

Once everything is disconnected, then you can remove the seat out of the Prius. BE CAREFUL not to scratch or nick any of your interior with the bottom seat rails.

Once the seat is removed, compare the original Prius seat to the donor CT seat. I found out that my donor CT seat did not have the same seat sensor/seat belt clip connector as the Prius did. See pictures below.

I ended up having to swap the whole seat sensor/seat belt clip connector from the Prius seat to the CT 200H seat. It wasn't hard. It was just tedious making sure not to break any clips. I did verify that the seat sensor control unit box underneath the seat was the same part number. So it is compatible to swap the harness over.

Here's is the harness from the CT 200H seat, but they both look alike except for the double connector for the seat belt buckle clip.

This is the "Computer Occupant Detection" box. Both the CT and Prius seat boxes were the exact same.

You might be able to just switch the actual seat belt clip, but I didn't try that, as it would leave one loose connector under the seat. I didn't want any problems after installing it.

After swapping the seat harness, it is now plug and play into the Prius. After plugging in and bolting down the seat, I reconnected the 12 volt battery and installed the hybrid battery safety plug back in. Powered on the car no lights, no warnings. Sat in the seat The "Airbag ON" light came on and so did the fasten seat belt light. I fasten my seat belt, and it went off. All works like factory.

I have not messed around with the heated seat function. That will be in the future and I will give an update when that is completed. The seat heater is a different plug altogether.

I hope this will help those who would like to install a CT200H passenger seat into their Prius. I bought both driver's and passenger CT seat so that it would match. Please let me know if I missed anything. Thanks.

Yes. Sorry, it was late last night, so wanted to get a better picture today. Getting some new rubber put on the Prius now, so I will post the pictures this afternoon.

so wait... only the connecter you showed in the first two pictures are the only differencs? If so, Im going to ask my connector guy how much to make a conversion connector. But now.. this is just so the seat functions with no errors to the Prius. When you get to the seat heater portion, let me know, I'll see what he says to make you a plug-in option for that jazz.. I'll also see if he can comp me the connector for your other seat so you can tell us if it works as expected so no connector troubles for you or anyone in the future.

my plan is to do a Lexus seat since I already have the heated set option, I want the ventilated as well. The plan was to have my connector guy make what I need so I can use the Lexus set temp controls where you slide one way for heat or cool and it's adjusting the temp for the user as well. the switch should pop into the spot my current set heater goes to.

I have an extra lower panel with the two-seat heater switch from the factory, it's just I added two holes for USB ports. If you want it, it's yours. Love this btw!

EDIT: it's the seat belt connector only that's the difference if I read for the 5th time correctly... sometimes my dyslexia gets me.

The Lexus seat had the 8 pin connector and the Prius has the six pin connector. The difference in the main plug for the seat, is because of the seat belt plug as shown in the last two pics. I'm not sure why the Lexus has a two plug configuration for the seat belt buckle clip, other than another sensor or something, because the Prius only has the one plug for the seat belt buckle clip. All I know is that it is compatible to swap the seat belt/seat sensor harness over from the Prius. And it works fine, so. Works for me. (y)

For the seat heater, I'm going to be using the empty face plate holes on the driver's side, since I took out the dummy plate where the factory seat heater buttons would go. I put my Android Auto connector there. It looks factory too.

Thanks for the great info, I discussed the CT200h seat swap here last year BUT forgot the problem with the CT200h bottom of seat wiring harness. I found the problem to be the wiring section to the "weight detectors" on the 4 corners of the seat - the 4 sensors in the Prius end in a 4 pin connector and the same 4 sensors in the CT200h end in a 6 pin connector. I separated the "weight" section from the rest of the CT200h wiring harness and just hooked up the old Prius "weight detector" section of the wiring harness to the CT200h seat and hoped for the best. I worked. This may apply to both driver and passenger side in some cases

If the CT200h seat belt clip does not clip into your Prius body you need to swap the Prius seat belt clip AND its wires onto the CT200h seat.

Cool. I was wondering about the seat belt clip, but thanks for the info. Glad I swapped it over too before I found out the hard way!
Did you also do the driver's side seat to and was that included in a thread on here? If so, could you post it here as I could not find one anywhere. The only one on seat swaps I found was only for the driver's side that was done in 2020 and the wiring to a base model Prius wasn't explained very well for a CT200h seat. I'm trying to figure the wiring out on drivers side as I found the power and ground, but I'm only getting power to the seat motors and the lumbar and lumbar switch. But I haven't found the second positive the CT seat uses. The lumbar works, but not the seat motors. They have power like i said, but I believe the switch (which is separate from the lumbar switch) I don't believe is getting power. Could you give me some insight on this?

I installed a power CT200h seat in passenger side 1st then did power seat on driver side 2nd. But I cut out all the CT200h seat wires coming from the dash and connectors coming from seat belt post on side of the car ( with male and female connectors ) and used those to figure it out. One of the motors was dead (up/down) and had to be replaced.

I did not try to get seat heaters to work. Diagrams you can find on the web may show that the seat needs a "ignition power on" wire as well as a constant power. But I wired my Prius so there is no power at all to my seats when car is "off".

I'm doing mine the same way. Passenger side was first, then drivers side is next. I hotwired all three motors and they work, so I'm going to replace the switch and that should fix it.

My junkyard CT200h seats had a dead up/down motor which stumped us for a while until it was replaced.

However I hope you do not "hot -wire" those old used seats to your car or even to the Prius factory fuse box. I ran a 3 wire yellow heavy extension cord from the rear 12v battery to two 30amp relays in a plastic box under the passenger seat. All 3 wires are fused 2 inches from at the rear battery. No way do I want to accidently burn up the car. I think running the 3 wire cord from the + battery post then around the spare tire and then up to driver side then under the pass seat is best path to stay away from the traction battery and the battery fan.

So there are 3 15amp fuses at the battery and two relays under the seat. I do not want the seats ON all the time.
The relays are energized by a signal wire from the cigarette lighter wire in the dash.

The third 12v wire is going to be for a constant 12v socket for future heavy duty use.

NOTE: the Ct200h seats I have found have the Softex or Nuluxe fake leather that seems delaminate or tear apart in the heat.

No, I'm not wiring it without all the fuses and relays and such. I don't want the car to burn down either. @Tombukt2 recommended that I look for the factory plug from the wiring harness since they were all wired for power seats. It's just whether they got them or not, that was a different story. I am waiting for the seat switch to come, once I verify that works, I will then find that factory plug.

My seats are 2011, so it is real leather. Which I agree with you on the nuluxe stuff. It peels.
