Talking about their website. Were they hacked or something? Seems to redirect me to another website and wants me to disable my adblocker, because it's now some kind of spam ad. I think it was this morning, I checked their stock and the website was fine still.
There's a good reason for the delays... The V2 circuit upgrade and new quality control protocol at the factory will make this product better than it already is. Most businesses wouldn't put this much effort into solving statistically insignificant problems and just live with it, but fortunately Nexcell has super high standards, so as much of a hassle as the delays are right now, it's better for all of us to get past these growing pains sooner than later. I suspect by end of Summer (when my Nexcell prototype pack reaches 3 years old) they'll be back in stock and will stay in stock for a long, long time!
Can you be more specific? This thread was a discussion about a website glitch due to a pre-order financial service shutting down, which was fixed on the same day with no issues for customers. But perhaps you're asking about the pack itself? And in my 4 years of working with Project Lithium my sense is packs with problems is at less than 1% and that weakness in the product has been addressed by both redesigning quality control at the factory, as well as redesigning the circuitry inside the modules for weaknesses in the oldest Prius in regards to risk of pack balancing and situations when old Prius related defects can lead to over-charging which can ruin lithium based packs. This redesign surprisingly led to a significant improvement in MPG because a perfectly balanced pack performs better. This is why there's been so many delays in past 6 months because under 1% of a known problem rate is not much when you're selling a couple thousand packs, but when the plan is to ramp up way beyond 10 thousand packs, those numbers can get big real fast and need to be kept down.
