I found a Prius Prime XSE in freight and on the fence of getting it. It is sold at MSRP with not markup or mandatory adds. There is a Uber rebate of $750 they will honor. So that helps. Sadly my state doesn't offer any incentives for PHEV or EV cars. Would like a XLE FWD or AWD and on lists. But, will take longer than I can wait to get into a car. Odd I was able to find the PP. There was a deal and the buyer cancelled. So, right place at the right time situation. I don't want to take a bath on paying MSRP on a car and then later one take a bath on it when I sell or trade it in. I doubt the Prius Prime will be like the RAV4 Prime and hold it's value in this bubble.

"This quality has impacted the depreciation rate of the Prius Prime and at a depreciation rate of 17 percent after five years of ownership, a $32,350 base SE model will resell for $26,850."

The average depreciation rate on a new car is 40% after 5 years.

If you can afford it, buy the car.

Yes... buy the damn car. It's wonderful!

You are VERY lucky to be getting your hands on one of those at MSRP in the States sir.

While searching for one I found a Corolla Hybrid SE AWD for a discount which is rare and available immediately. So, I would be saving $10K from the Prius Prime. Just wish the Corolla Hybrid had the blind spot monitoring since the one I found didn't have the package on it. I will probably go through with the Prius Prime. I know apple to orange. It's hard to walk away from a deal especially during these times on cars.

Took delivery of my 2023 Prius Prime XSE last week. I paid the exact MSRP that was on the sticker of $37,808. No dealer markup and no dealer mandatory adds..

The incentives likely make it cheaper than a new Prius.

They only lease them and making it very affordable. I like the hydrogen fuel cell too but not enough stations to fill up.

Picked up my Prius Prime XSE this past Friday. Paid MSRP with no market adjustments or add ons. Not the color I wanted (Windchill Pearl), but can't be picky. It was on the ground and the person that had their name on it canceled the day before. I was at the right place at the right time and called the dealer the day after to see if it was available. I did have to fly to NY to drive back. But, I was one of the lucky ones to get one only looking for a month and calling numerous dealers that had mark adjustments or add ons. Or wouldn't sell to out of state. Or getting on list and not know when I would get one.

    Toyota actually sells the Mirai.
California's incentives are more generous for FCEVs than other EVs. Plus, you get $15k worth of free fuel.

The Gen 5 Prius is really hard to find around here (Portland, Oregon). I didn’t know that and really liked the car so I decided to deal on one. First went to a dealer near me but they wanted $3500 over MSRP and I walked away. But they had had one in stock so again I thought they would be easy to find (it sold to the next person that looked at it). Then I was told that another dealer near me was getting one in any minute. I went there and was the third person in line 15 minutes later. The second person bought it. I was getting the picture now that they are very rare. After some more looking around I put a deposit on a Prime XSE in cutting edge and it came in a few weeks later. I bought it at MSRP. That was the first of June. Love the car, but they are even harder to find now since dealers realizing how popular they are. I think I was pretty lucky.

Congrats and you are lucky to pay at MSRP.

Did you order the Cutting Edge color or it was already built and ready for sale?

It was already allocated to the dealer in that color.

Just purchased a 2023 Prius Prime SE (Guardian Grey) at Toyota Universe in NJ for MSRP + Destination charge. Overall $34,400. Came with mud flaps, door protectors, and interior rubber mats.
