Is everyone who repairs 2nd gen MFDs way off in the east? I'm in Idaho and it would be nice to save time in shipping. 2009 4 button MFD suddenly completely shut off. Sometimes comes back on normally, other times shows the toyota logo on a black screen that slowly fades to white then it turns off again. Might come back normally, might do the logo screen again. I'll see if I can get it to the self diagnostic.
New 12V battery in, did the self diagnostic and voltages are where they should be. Turned the car off, back on and MFD doesn't work. Drove it to the store to do some shopping. Back in the car and MFD is still not working. Hit a little bump in the road and it turns on. Got home, opened then closed the hatch and the MFD went off. Somewhere there's apparently a loose connection.
That is not much help. I click, I get the below, no contact info. PriusChat - Error This member limits who may view their full profile.
my apologies, i thought combo meter for some reason. i've never read of anyone fixing mfd's, they usually replace with salvage, ebay, if they can find one. maybe a local electronics repair or car audio shoppe if you can find one.
There's a place in Florida and one in Indiana. $299. Send yours in, they fix it and send it back. I was hoping for someone in California, Oregon, or Washington so I wouldn't have to wait so long on shipping from and back to Idaho.
