Thinking of planning my first camping outing in my gen 2, hoping to do so on a budget, any tips? I’m about 5-10 so I should fit just fine, figured I’d just stack up some blankets for the “mattress”. I really haven’t camped aside from when I was a kid so any and all tips welcome!
I would spend a night or two in the car with your stack of blankets, well before the trip. Then you will have time to arrange a more serious pad if that isn't sufficient. I'm pretty sure my back and possibly a hip or two would be a wreck from sleeping on that hard a surface, but then I'm in my 60's and pretty skinny. A younger or more well padded person might be able to sleep just fine on those blankets.
I’m definitely pretty boney and lacking on padding lol. I’ll give it a shot! Definitely better to be close to home where I can crawl into bed if it’s not comfortable
Yeah, reported it to be moved there for more traction.. maybe the only mod is at the parade, or is finally getting a day of rest
I think it's ok here. OP can check out Living Life in a Prius forum for more tips on their own if they wish.
I converted my 2005 into a camper and go over the road camping one month a year. I mainly stay at Loves truck stop as they have food and showers and they're located about every 100 miles or so. I have WIFI and a small TV in there and a mattress that's more comfortable than the one I have at home. Window blinds are recommended along with a sun visor for privacy. I run a small space heater plugged into an Amazon thermostat if it's cold rather than running the engine all night. It works for me.
I have a 1500 watt inverter where the spare tire used to be. Leave the car in ready mode and shut the heat off then the space heater kicks on for 3-5 minutes a few times per hour and the ICE starts up to charge the battery. It's way more efficient than running the ICE engine all night to make hot water heat.
