Did you post twice? Here's my reply from your other post: Pink for Asian vehicles is close enough... There's alot of capitalism that furthers problems with radiators from way back when radiators weren't aluminum and plastic and were a high maintenance system. These days as long as its full without air in it and the pumps keep working you don't really need to do anything. Of course I'd love it if the people with antiquated radiator dogma show up to argue this point.

 

Nothing to discuss in a modern cooling system fill it up with like similar rated liquid and leave it the heck alone Wait for the plastic tank on your radiator to fail or something and get to that. Generally speaking in Toyotas since oh I don't know 75 or 78 cooling systems have been quite the least of the problem you'll ever deal with in any of their cars or the cars I've owned from them other than the plastic radiator tanks cracking at the top right under the neck on older and other Toyotas and I would always replace them with modine's go series metal radiators never had the problem again in my '02 Corolla have a desert cooler which is a 2-in thick radiator core two or three row unheard of in a Toyota this is made generally the light go in the Toyota truck It's the same size as what's in my Corolla I'll post a picture one of these days it's all aluminum I paid $99 for it on eBay brand new.

 

Owners manual “recommends” Toyota Super Long Life Coolant, but says others may be used if they meet criteria (a lengthy list of esoteric criteria). I didn’t understand half the words in that list, opted for SLLC, but you could research it.

 

Get the red one. The blue “Asian Vehicle” is for Hondas.

The cost of "other" coolant, is usually within pennies of the Toyota coolant.
Why risk screwing up your cooling system, and possible engine with something
that is close enough?

 

Since it doesn’t note non-phosphate it’s likely phosphate enhanced Asian coolant.

Europeans use silicate enhanced coolant.

For information on the why’s of the different types of coolants check out pqia.org (Petroleum Quality Institute of America). They also provide information on whether mixing different types is advisable. It won’t take long to check it out and then you will have the knowledge to avoid following the wrong advice.

 

From Vavoline’s site concerning the red Asian coolant:
ZEREX Asian Vehicle contains no silicates, borates, 2-ethylhexanoic acid (2-EHA), amines or nitrites. It is compatible with premium long life Asian vehicle coolants, both for service and factory fill. Valvoline recommends ZEREX Asian Vehicle for all late model Asian vehicles requiring a red or pink HOAT chemistry.

 

Why am I not surprised lol.

 

I used Zerez Red in my last coolant change, for both engine and inverter coolant. Zero issues, no problems with overheating, etc. But I think the main thing is proper schedule of when to replace fluid.... whichever coolant you decide to go with (Zerex, Toyota, etc.) just make sure to change it at a proper time and don't neglect it.
