Was looking at either one of these https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/9597106.p?skuId=9597106 Alipne ^ Kicker ↓ https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/3526208.p?skuId=3526208 A yone done it yet or know if it would fit, and hook up relatively easy from professional installer? Have reached out to a few local installers a d they are unsure since "car is so new".
There isn't enough space under the passenger seat. I installed a JBL basspro nano into the rear storage. It was fairly straight forward but I've done similar installs a million times at this point. You will need a custom harness to run outputs from depending on what stereo you have. It should be no problem for an experienced installer. nice! Thinking the 8" hideaway kicker, looks a bit bigger than the nano deminsion wise, too bad it won't fit under the seat. Looks good! If you have a chance and take a look https://www.crutchfield.com/S-s2lfgsxRf7k/p_20611HS8/Kicker-11HS8.html Does the extra wiring it comes with cover all needed to install without purchasing more stuff? From your experience. I have the LE, non jbl stock head unit. Hmmm
I'm not familiar with the setup in the non-JBL cars, is there also an amplifier under the driver seat on those? If so you can tap into the speaker wires there. As I said before I used a jumper harness to tap in rather than cutting into the factory wires. Depending on where you put the sub some of the included stuff sounds like it might work but I think you'll end up needed some extra wiring. This is all standard stuff you could get online, at a car audio shop, or even a good hardware store.
I'm not sure but I don't think there's an amplifier under the seat. Going to meet with installer for consultation Sunday morning and report back. Thanks for the info/replies!
So.. for what it's worth. When I raise my driver seat like 2 pumps. There is perfect room, barely but perfect fit for the Kicker 8" Hideaway powered "sub" under my seat. Having it Installed on the 17th. Will report back. Presuming it will make a decent amount of thumping. Decided to have the switches and dials face the front of the car, under the seat, able to tweak them if needed, which will be never after "tuned". Able to slide seat back and forth etc I'm not tall, so I don't notice the seat being raised at all. The kicker comes with all the wires and harness needed to install, no need to purchase a thing else. Figute having it in there instead of trunk somewhere will be a tasty difference in sound. I do not know
Nice, I wonder if the drive side is a little deeper? I couldn't test it since I have the JBL amp there. You could always put like 3/4" spacers and longer bolts under seat mounting points so the seat can be fully lowered without mashing the sub.
That's a really good idea, I definitely hadn't even thought of that solution. Absolutely going to do that! Thank you
Hello Audio Enthusiasts, I'm a huge audiophile and it was a must to upgrade my sound system. I used a powered 8 inch Bazooka tube and installed it under the cargo floor. I carved out the Styrofoam (right side when facing the rear of the vehicle) and it fits like a glove. I have it firing to the rear of the vehicle. No straps required and I bought the optional volume and frequency adjustment. I had a professional installer wire it up and they did an awesome job. The bass is tight and not boomy. You'll get far superior bass than under a seat. It still has the flat floor and it doesn't take up precious cargo capacity. Try it, you won't regret it!
