Hi all, coming up on 100k miles in my Lexus CT. Searched the threads and didn't find anything specific, but where do folks take their Gen3s for EGR service in San Diego? I've noticed hybrid pit is a common name tossed around here, but that's just a tad too far out of the way. Thanks.
I don't know personally about any in San Diego. Someone mentioned awhile back SD Hybrids being fair and good. I just googled them. There also is Ecomax Auto Service and then Expert Hybrid. And yes, if you were up here in the OC, I would recommend Hybridpit.
Monday bump. I can't believe this new thread is the top result for "Prius EGR service san diego" on google. There's gotta be at least a handful of us in SD with Gen3's, right? Any reputable shops can totally capitalize on this market opportunity!
Thanks, I'll give him a DM! And if he doesn't have an answer... I'm going to spin the roulette wheel and find a lucky shop that'll do this and direct all of the forum traffic to them lol.
No dice.... he took it to Hybrid Pit, haha. Guess I'll have to find some time next time I'm in OC to get this thing done.
Most shops will only replace parts, bill you full retail for them, plus generous hours for labour. DIY clean if at all possible, it takes about a day, costs peanuts, and don’t plan anything strenuous for the following day; you will be knackered. my signature has tips/links; on a phone turn it landscape to see signature.
I was just going to recommend you Mendel! I have seen your detailed site on how to do it yourself and it pretty much covers everything. Jmix, if you have the time, it is much cheaper and yes, the first time will take you a full day. Cleaning parts is the hardest. I didn't do mine, due to the fact that I had at the time extra money so I had Hybridpit do a lot more. Tranny flush, new water pump, EGR, intake manifold, cleaned the fuel injectors, new plugs, etc. I wanted my engine at 68k to be "like new". I'm now at 80k and the car is running great.
Thank for the referrals and it is greatly appreciated! Yesterday we had a gentleman drive all the way from Vegas to get our world famous EGR service
Agreed. I just saw a newsfeed article about the lack of qualified automotive techs. Article went on to say that those who are working are extremely busy.
