The dealership in Nanaimo, Vancouver Is. BC - link is below. Will attach one screen capture that seems to indicate a 120V option !! Been seeing this in Japan market and hoping it might become available in North America - first hint it will!
At 5:30 you can see the 120V outlet. Just inside the back hatch, left side, halfway up the door, with a hinged cover over the outlet itself. She skipped past the second 120V outlet on the back side of the center console. 1500W total power available to the two outlets. They're in the US manual, so I don't think you have to worry about the Prime not having them in North America.
Two reasons. First, it's in the US manual. Second, it's written on the button that's in the pic attached to the original post.
Did you see the screenshot? I think that's where the selection button was on the 22 JA market Prime. I put up thread last year on this subject. Looks like a reality. Good spot in the video at 5:30!
Thanks! I am No. 2 on a waiting list for a black Prius Prime SE. Yes, AC-power outlet is standard on Gen 5 Prius Prime. It can run from the traction battery. Cloth seats seem elegant and high-quality. Black looks very good and agreeable, nicely blending with the matte black rubber trim. Red looks very good, too, and I had a 2009 Barcelona Red Metallic Corolla XLE—but it felt a little too colorful for me after a while.
Have a Yellow XSE Premium, can confirm that there is a 2 prong 120v outlet in the back of the console and a 3 prong 120v outlet in the trunk.
Now I don’t have to use this inverter on my Gen 2 & Gen 3 anymore. The 2 new 120v outlets on my Gen 5 Prime are so convenient!
Nope - it draws on the much larger traction battery of the Prime. It actually provides sufficient power to serve as a home backup power source for a few things, like lights, computers, cooling fans, etc., as well as your fridge, and maybe a freezer, if you don't run everything at once.
One thing missing from the trunk is a 12v outlet. I have a 12v cooler I'd like to use but using a 120vac to 12vdc adapter seems like a waste. I might look at some sort of connection to the 12v battery in the trunk.
There was a window attachment I saw in the marketing material, that allows an extension cord to plug into the outlet to offer power outside the car. Does this attachment come with the Prime? Can someone post a photo of it in use? I haven't seen it in any of the photos or review videos yet.
