Just picked up a Prius Prime Limited, loaded, and has all sorts of sensors and doodads attached. I want to place my EZPass transponder on the front window just under rear-view mirror, but am not sure if it will interfere with the cars sensors, or vice versa. Any thoughts on this? I suspect it won't have any affect, but want to be sure. Thanks.
That's where I put it in the Camry, and haven't had a problem. Are those ares considered too close to the forwards sensors?
I have mine attached right on the black plastic casing of the front camera right behind the rearview mirror. It is totally out of site from outside or from inside unless looking from the side behind the rearview mirror as shown in the photo below. Never had a problem either with car sensors or with the tolls.
I got an EZ/SpeedPass holder with suctions cups. Nice for trips and doesn’t gums up the windows with those Velcro strip’s adhesive. When the trip is over it’s back in the glove compartment again. Early on I just laid it on the dash but it slid around too much.
Same here, mounted in the black dot area and no problems with it at all. The black dots enamel doesn't interfere with RFID signals.
from Ohio EZ Pass site, "*Certain vehicles do require special mounting. Some newer vehicles may have devices that can throw off the signal of the E-ZPass. Make sure the E-ZPass is not mounted near these devices (remote start, GPS, Satellite Radio, rain sensors or anything else that is metal or mechanical). The best location is typically in a lower corner close to the dashboard and still on the windshield."
I mount mine on the windscreen behind the rear view mirror where I can’t see it and not on the black silkscreened area.
