Amazon Basics CR1632 battery lasted less than 4 months in keyfob

Those battery tests down to 2.0 V are absolutely meaningless when it comes to keyless entry/keyless start. Test the voltage of a low one (per Prius display). I don’t think I’ve ever seen one below 3 V (using a decent multimeter)….

 

Energizers usually last 3 years plus/minus couple of months in my remotes. Don't buy from fleabay or amazon...

 

Just bought a Sig Romeo 5.
Their rating for the included CR1632 is 40,000 Hours (4.5 Years.)

The included battery.....a for-real Energizer lithium.
I'll let PC know in 4.5 years if it lasts that long.....

i bought a bunch of LICB batteries from amazon a year or two ago. they've been fine so far. i usually get 4-5 years out of the key fobs.
just got some amazon basics 9 volt. $1.62 each last were duracells, but i can't believe the current prices. checked home depot, just as bad.

 

Dollar stores tend to sell cheap coin cells.

The next best place to buy coin cells and button cells is eBay.

Energizer, Duracell, Panasonic, Maxell, etc. are all good brands as well as many Chinese brands such as Tianqiu.

Remember that China is the No. 1 manufacturer of batteries, and they are the world expert on battery manufacturing; so, there is no such thing as a cheap Chinese battery.

While it is true that Chinese companies are capable of producing high quality batteries, there are MANY MANY MANY examples where manufacturing facilities in the Middle Kingdom produce inexpensive fecal matter.

You won't go wrong with Chinese-made third-party name brands sold at dollar stores like ACDelco or highly rated Chinese OEMs on eBay like Tianqiu. I've never had problem with either ACDelco or Tianqiu.

Yes, that happens, and it is sometimes very easy to repair.

It happened to my gate-opener fob a few weeks ago, which uses a CR2032 lithium coin cell. It turned out that the solder on one of the posts of the cell holder broke off and the post lifted off, and the circuit board was no longer able to make contact with the bottom of the coin cell (negative terminal). I resoldered both posts, and it is now better than new.

If you are looking for cheap coin cells or button cells, Tianqiu cells are excellent—they are practically no worse than Panasonic cells:
