I have 2 FOBs. One I've used for 3 years. The other I've had stored. Well after much use The regular fob played out. So I bought a new case and battery. Normally the fob would start the car without being plugged into the socket. Now it won't start the car at all. The red light blinks when a button is pressed. The lock and unlock buttons work from 30' away.
The extra FOG will start the car if it's plugged in only
    What can I do?

Did you transfer the RFID chip to the new fob case?

There's a little rectangular block about a 1/4 inch thick you didn't swap out from old fob yet.
