So I had to replace my OEM tires which were Dunlop evasave 01 or something. And got me the defenders T+h. And I was getting around 60-62 mph. Now I’m getting 53-56mpg. Any suggestions on a better mpg tire for the 2022 Prius? I’ve looked around the internet but haven’t found much info. Initially they said these new Michelin defenders were the best. But from what I see. I’m not impressed.
Check yer brakes for draggin and clean yer egr circuit if ya ain’t git r done yet could be curtains if not
why would his brakes suddenly drag when all he did was replace the tires? op's info says 2013 Prius, his post says 2022 Prius; so what car are we talking about here?
Maybe Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus. If you can handle the itterations: there's a Mexican, US and Japanese version of this tire. From the factory some Prius came with the Japanese version. Of the US and Mexican versions (more readily available in North America) I think the Mexican version "looked" better, had one more row of tread, smaller gaps in between the rows. They're a cheaper tire than the Michelins, tend to show when worn, and get noisy, but are decent for rolling resistance.
Because people suddenly forget to add crucial information and that’s usually the first thing to check using the links on mendels signature. Whoever posts I here, I will believe it’s a gen 3 Prius because this is a gen 3 Prius sub forum.
I forgot to update my profile. I bought the car last year. It’s currently a 2022 car. I’m a delivery driver so I put a lot of miles on my new car
Is there any proof for this statement? Seems like no matter how much TLC you give a Gen 3,,, the head gasket is the weak link in having a long life engine.
I’m working on that, time will tell. @ASRDogman, another EGR cleaning “zealot”, just reported his original head gasket let go, a bit past 300k miles IIRC. I’d say head-in-the-sand owners are the weak link.
Absolutely no proof. I have 210,000 miles on mine. Cleaned egr circuit at a meet up long ago. I’m getting mid 60 mpgs again with 80-90F weather highs, non lithium battery.
My previous one went 240k miles before it started showing signs of the head gasket failure. I don't think it ever had the 'egr cleaning'. How many Prii owners are 'head in the sand', since this is just a recommendation on a forum? It's not recommended anywhere else, right? 60mpg is easily attainable by anyone driving a Prius. Just drive really slow like a cranky-pants ol'Boy!
Thanks! I forgot which thread we were on! I went with an El'CheapO tire from discount tires. $401 installed! I'll get data and go with Ecopia EP422 Plus next cycle! I'll see if they have them in the Bolt size. Costco has them on sale often.
