What other Toyota wheels fit the Prius?

I have accord wheel on my v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) for winter tire

 

some corolla will fit 2010 and under

 

I'm using this corolla steel rim with snow tires on a 2010:

Corolla steel rim, part no: 42611-02471 (2003-2008 corolla or matrix, CE, LS, S)

 

First gen scion wheels will fit. Also Matrix, CT200h, FRS. Pretty much anything toyota and 5x100 will fit. The Prius v wagon is 5x114 so wheels that fit that won't fit our cars.

 

My 2002 VW beetle 5 lugs fit my 2004-2009 Prius

 

Matrix/Pontiac Vibe, Corolla, Celica.

About 5 years ago, I bought a set of new wheels and tires from a guy that had just bought them, but the engine on his Subaru Impreza died. It seemed like a good deal for $200 and it was. The tires are now worn down and I found a set of Pontiac Vibe wheels with newer tires for sale, (also $200) so I might go that route again. No tire mounting/balancing or disposal fees, no waiting in a nasty waiting room.

 

05-10 scion tc. only the older model is 5x100.

 

Was looking into the 5x100's, two weeks back for the gen2, for when I'm out in the yard looking for parts candidates. This website gave me some leads: 5x100 - Bolt pattern | Wheel-Size.com

Took photos of the web page models I thought might be there so they were saved on my phone since I don't have data access unless wifi hotspot is available. Wound up finding a Prius gen 3 set for ~$100 with the 50% off sale and the Walmart tire tread gauge shows 6/32's for the rear pair of 60,000 mile tires (Update - 1919's, so ~2nd week May 2019) and 7/32's for the front 40,000 mile tires (Update - 3121's, so 1st week Aug. 2021). Though did find a set of steel Matrix/Vibe rims and tires that I was struggling with getting or not since those rims are significantly less expensive than the aluminum ones.

I archived the site above again on the internet archive as well.

I didn't find a quick way to determine the rim size like being a 15, 16, 17, etc. other than searching the specific model numbers years to see the stock tire options.

 

Always check the date of manufacture on the tire sidewall(s) when you get used/old tires.

There are websites that show you how to decode the DOT number, but basically, the last two digits are the year the tire was made. If the tire is over 10 years old, it's generally not safe to use them, no matter how good they appear.

IIRC it’s 4 digits, first two digits are year, last two are week. For example:

1014

Would be the 14th week of 2010.

I was not aware of that major or possibly critical detail. Excellent to know and I'll be certain to check from now on.

I also updated my prior post to reflect what I found regarding the last four digits. The 185's on gen 2 rims with the cap rings were found to have 1417's, so 1st week in April 2017. Whew!!!

Oddly, the Haida Puma HD818 M/T Mud Off-Road Light Truck Radial's (215/75R15LT) that came with the 2006 and have been inspected by Discount Tire just the other day to repair a slow leak (twist drill found) in one tire, check the TPMS sensors and check in general, weren't noted as having any issues and were good to go other than replacing the sensors. Those don't appear to have the same code. Only a DOT 33B4 is present.

 

I just purchased some Subaru BRZ wheels many say they should fit 5x100 bolt pattern same as Scion FRS and Toyota 86 can’t wait to install them Monday or Tuesday!

 

IIRC, you'll need thin spacers (3mm) to clear the rear brake caliper carriers. The fronts will be OK.

You should also get hubcentric adapters for all 4 wheels, as the Subaru wheels have a bore that is 2mm larger.

The BRZ wheels also have a strange lugnut seat on them, I think you'll need lugnuts with a rounded bottom, narrow diameter. You can't use the OEM Toyota lugnuts for sure.

Here's what I was referring to about the lugnut seating against the BRZ wheels. I think the seat on the wheels look like the radiused seat on the far left in this image. Most lugnuts you find will be for the 60 degree tapered acorn seat depicted in the middle of the image.

Not sure if these lugnuts are small enough in diameter for the BRZ wheels though.

Yes, the 54.1mm to 56.1mm adapters are what you need.

The clearance issue isn't in the diameter of the wheel, but in the offset of the back of the wheel spokes from the outer face of the brake caliper carriers.

When you get your BRZ wheels, test mount them on the rears, release the parking brake, then slowly rotate the wheels. Check for clearance/interference issues between the wheel and the brake and suspension components. Repeat for the fronts.
