it has the exact same footprint as the integrated dashcam. The question is if I install the dashcam, do I put it next to this part? do I remove this part? It looks like a sensor of m some kind
Pretty sure that is a camera that reads road signs etc and maybe uses lasers for depth calculations, predictions. But I'm not positive. I put my dash cam directly beneath it
Its most likely the camera that is used by the car for lane-keeping and the such. The Gen 4 has the same pod in the same position. I installed my dash cam to the right of this pod on the black dots.
sorry this is the "main" console that powers the mirror. There is a piece next to it which looks exactly like the integrated dashcam but it isn't. It looks to be powered so it is some sort of sensor.
