2012 Prius 77,000 miles (soon to be 78k). Was in body shop along with other things they decided to do an Alignment. First scan and found no codes, aligned it and Codes C1345 and C1368 went off and three lights on the dashboard lit up. Vehicle Stabi8lity, ABS and Brakes. Cars drives ok but is constantly discharging the Traction (High Voltage) Battery when stopped at red lights etc. Doesn't discharge in Neutral or Park unless the Traction battery is low. Mileage seems to have suffered some.

The body shop tried to clear the codes to no avail, they took it to a Stealership and Toyota got the same codes and said replace the typical brake parts (about 3500.00). The body shop said Stealership said just a worn out part!

there is talk regarding alignment ant those code coming up. Suggested the Steering Angle Sensor and i tried the paper clip solution (from left to right; fourth upper connected to fifth lower on the oBD/CAN plug under the steering wheel). Nope.

Got the 14.20.016 TS chinese clone with correct patch and can read codes and clear codes except these two (C1345 ans C1368).

What do I need to use with the Mini Vci J2534 Cable that I have?
Any ideas on how to fix this short of letting the Stealership into my wallet?

i don't understand how a brake job could solve a draining traction battery when stopped. if it was moving, maybe something dragging. but i must be missing something

I'm betting that the brake system can't behave because of the codes, and because of that the car doesn't know it has stopped, as a result the traction battery supplies voltage to the electric motors.

You can't just clear a C1345. The code means the system needs its linear solenoid offset learning procedure done, so you have to do that.

C1368 means, on the last attempt, the value 'learned' was outside the range that could possibly be right. So it has to be tried again. Maybe somebody disturbed the brakes while it was learning. Maybe there was air in the lines. Maybe the parking brake wasn't fully released. Something messed up the process of learning the valve offsets.

If another attempt fails (after maybe trying extra hard to bleed air well from the system, and following the offset learning steps to a T, not disturbing anything while it learns) and C1368 comes back, then it may be indeed that the actuator needs to be replaced.

"Skid Control ECU circuit poor electrical connection" is a possible C1345 cause according to google.

It'd probably be worth a shot just doing a quick pull test on the electrical connection of the brake actuator, no?

Where's the skid control ECU? | PriusChat

If it were me and the connection is good, I'd try to trace those wires from the actuator to see where they go as well. If it popped up immediately after someone was working on your car, a knocked loose connection/wire is highly suspect.

They replaced a wheel strut(according to the paperwork, I'd bet they took off a wheel and dissembled the passenger side suspension and reassembled it. Plenty of chances to unplug things and get air in the line.

By googling both that phrase and C1345, I think I've found the source you found with google.

The same source also says, under "Solutions",

    • ...
    • Choose a better quality fuel
    • Check that the tank cap is securely closed
    • Check the oil level and add more if it is lower than MAX
    • ...

Not to put too fine a point on it, the internet is full of sites that purport to tell you what codes mean. Some of them simply confuse different meanings of a code (especially codes in ranges like C1, which are manufacturer-defined and can mean completely different things in different cars, even models from one manufacturer). Some others are just plain content mills; they have random copypasta from other auto repair sites and they show up in your search results and get revenue when you click them and that's their entire function. (There's even a channel on youtube now that is doing that, with very slickly-produced videos, and wasting a lot of people's time.)

If you look in the repair manual, there is not a lot to see for the C1345 code. It is the skid ECU's way of telling you "hey, I need you to run the linear solenoid offset learning procedure". So you do that.

    I also had a Code C1368 so:
    Perform initialization and calibration of the linear solenoid valve . [ BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM: INITIALIZATION}

Is that done with Techstream? Can you tell me how, i have a version of Techstream but couldn't figure out how to do it.

I think you find it under ABS/VSC/TRAC ☞ Utility ☞ ECB Utility ☞ Linear Valve Offset.

The car has to be in Park, but with the parking brake released, IG ON (two button presses, no brake), and no disturbance or use of the brake while the process proceeds, which takes a minute or two, making a bunch of differently-loud fluid-squishing noises. The ECB light blinks slowly during the process, then switches to blinking rapidly when complete.
