    Just wondering if anyone installed it. Is it DIYable or need to take to a mechanic?

    any other thoughts?

    Do it yourself by my dad's friend. He's a retired aerospace airframe mechanic, though.

    I see a link to cat straps but not for miller cat shields. I'm interested in buying/installing one. Also, anyone know if it would void the warranty? Maybe they'll say it adds heat or some other excuse to not want to pay for some non related repairs.

    TIA

    With Azusa's code(azusa), it runs $180.50 with free shipping. That's actually noticeably more than the $140 it costs* through Toyota(installation not included in either price). As for voiding the warranty, that'd be tough as Toyota themselves sell it as a dealer accessory.

    *unless for some strange reason the one sold through their website and the one sold through Toyota are different; but I have no idea why that would be

    The shield covers the Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF). The cat is integrated into the header. Do thieves target the GPF? From what I have Googled, the GPF doesn’t seem to have the precious metals or value of a cat.

    I actually looked into why the prices are different between Toyota and this. Seems like MilerCat makes two versions, aluminum and stainless steel. Aluminum one is offered for $140 on Toyota.com only and stainless steel one matches on MilerCat site and Toyota.

    Well, hell. I looked at Toyota.com, but stopped when I saw the first one. Never thought to keep scrolling sideways. But now that I think about it, I remember seeing two way back, but I just assumed it was an artifact of when half the accessories were placeholders from the 2022. Since I don't plan to add a cat shield, I never bothered to look deeper. Oops.

    I only lifted one side on jack stands. It's pretty straight forward otherwise. The rear bolts were a little finicky to put in. I'd recommend 1/4" ratcheting bit driver to make it easier.

    @Larry Kay

    Go on a computer and go to my profile.
    Then click the information tab, there you will see the link for catshield which is by miller cat.

    You can also just enter the code azusa on the catshield website if you still cant find my link in my profile.

    I doubt that these crackhead thieves are really targeting anything. They see a Prius and all they know is it get under it and cut out the round thing with a tube coming out of each end.

    Yes the rear bolts are a little finicky to put in. An osciallating saw to help remove a little plastic helped me a LOT.

    I didn't cut I just pulled the plastic down far enough to stuff them in there.

    Yeah the rear bolts (with the bar) were a pain in the nice person to put in. Had to pull down the plastic.
