It was a couple of spots of fuel that was on the ground and on the inside of my wheel well. Obviously, I'm very concerned about this and I'll be dropping it off at a shop tomorrow to see what's going on Any input will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for your replies.
That's pretty unusual. I would get it into a shop and ask them to inspect the filler neck and tank. Have you had any difficulty filling this car? Has anyone been overfilling it by any chance?
You probably ran over something and got a very small rupture in the fuel tank. Other leak sources are Evap and fuel neck connections. If the leak is coming from the Evap system, you should get a CEL - because you can't pressurize the tank. If the leak is below the fuel level, the Evap test would pass - fuel is covering the leak so the tank can pressurize.. hope this helps..
Since YOU are not qualified to evaluate or fix this....... Why are you wasting your time asking that question HERE ?? You need to get it to a shop to have it fixed.........without driving one inch more than you have to to get it there.
They’re getting it to the shop tomorrow. And there’s nothing wrong with trying to search for some answers and insights in the meantime.. This is a very normal thing for someone to do when they’re having a technical issue.
