Sad times for Europe, or at least for the Czech Republic - online pre-orders were delayed April to July (Tsusho dealership mail arrived today).
In Finland, we can already pre-order or at least an advance reservation. Starting price €44,000. Delivery of cars in autumn. Hopefully there will be no delays
Batteries? Or Toyota is just being cautious. Waiting to see how sales go now that there is no more incentives before committing production.
It might be the case, or they are prioritizing more viable markets first Wait wait wait, €44,000? That actually sound really good, it seems I was way too pessimistic. Lucky you, it seems Finland and Norway usually get the new EV stuff sooner than other Europe countries
Many thanks man, the Finnish site have prices, trims infos, and technical data for the EU versions in PDF, i've translated in English the PDFs, it is very useful for all of us, Europeans, to know in detail which kind of trims and specs will be available. 3 trims as in US, but with very different accessories. In particular the entry version is much more equipped then the US LE. Also it clarifies, unfortunately, that the solar roof is not an option but only a standard equipment of the Top version, about 5000 Eur more than the very equilibrated middle trim. Prices are not bad, really, if we take out from the Finnish prices the 24% VAT and the car tax (unique to Finland). For example Italy have 22% VAT, France & Germany 20% if i'm correct. Middle trim, STYLE in Finland, the most interesting. Unfortunately the 17" only available on the entry trim. And not all EU countries allows easily a change of the OEM tyre size... From the Finnish prices: 1) 34,500 EUR + VAT 2) 36,040 EUR + VAT 3) 40,049 EUR + VAT
Thanks! Looks like there are both auto-foldable external mirrors and 2-zone AC included in all trims, in addition to the 12” screen. However, no JBL audio nor glass roof even as options If prices would be confirmed in all EU, only the base trim with blue paint would be eligible for incentives for us in Italy, bringing the total with full incentives to ~37.5K. That’s the same as a base TM3..
There's also the 8-ways electrical seats and most of the goodies! I've highlighted in red in a new file what is lacking the Active relative to the Style and i see it's quite well equipped and with the 17" - 86 km Wltp, i'm considering it, particularly thinking that my beloved Solar roof will probably away too much in price for the Premium and with no incentives, i reckon some +10,000 eur, too much. The only thing to modify on the Active is to put the leds on the lightbar of the trunk Anyway i think it should be no problem to get the list price within the 42,700 Eur in Italy included metallic option. Discount Toyota WeHybrid is 3500 on all hybrids + incentive 3000 Eur, = 36,200 Eur a good deal.
Prices in Germany (VAT 19%) published. Not Cheap, same trims and accessories as the one i've reported, confirming a quite rich entry level version, not comparable to the very naked american LE, but still with the 17" class A (EAER 86 km + 0,5 lt/100km WLTP) 45,290 Eur 47,190 Eur 52,690 Eur Text - Neuer Toyota Prius startet zu Preisen ab 45.290 Euro - Toyota Deutschland Media-Website
What is the car charging port standard for Europe for the PHEV? In particular I'm wondering whether it would be possible to import a Canadian Prius Prime for use in Europe – could you have a different connector installed, and expect the electronics to be compatible?
On Toyota.cz, they just changed info on pre-order, they start in 11 day 13 hours and 44 minutes. Remarkable amount of misinformation :-D
Thought it might be a challenge, but there are adapters already available. https://www.evseadapters.com/shop/en/ev-chargers-charger-adapters-extension-cords/269-european-to-us-type-2-iec-mennekes-to-type-1-j1772-ev-adapter.html
The prices have been set, the base model in the Czech Republic costs 1,150,000 CZK (54,215 USD), well, thanks Toyota Europe, u can keep it, for that price i can import it from US and it will be still cheaper as i don't care about plug-in version. For price of one European Prius u can buy literally two US Priuses, it is starting to be really ridiculous.
Different—IEC Type 1 vs. IEC Type 2—as the US uses 2-phase (2 × 120 V = 240 V) and the EU uses 3-phase (√3 × 220 V = 381 V) residential AC systems. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charging_station However, you can buy an adapter. https://www.ebay.com/itm/225200317480
It is $7000 more expensive compared to previous generation (base model). Considering the amount of cars for said market (around 20 for 2023 and 15 for 2024), you can't even expect any dealer discount. I expect reservations for 2023 to be pretty much full in 5 minutes after they start pre-order forms. 20 cars for 2023 for the Czech Republic, and even less in 2024 ... ridiculous.
Leasing info from German website states now 42980 Eur as entry price (https://www.toyota.de/neuwagen/prius-plugin)
The reduction is exactly the typical ( usually 3000-3500 Eur) company discount that most often Toyota gives officially on the list price, nothing strange. They use that system to tune a lit bit the listing price according to the sales.
No wireless phone charger in Europe, it seems. All trims look to have an empty space where the Qi charger is supposed to be, which from one of the most clever car wireless charging solutions (ok, not the freshest) becomes a great and hard-to-clean place to accumulate dust for your older self to enjoy. Toyota, WHY?
