    Exactly. If you believe in your hybrids then make them! They’re not helping if you don’t make them or nobody can get them. Make as many as the gassers you’re making. BTW that includes north of the border as well.

    I'm always jealous when I see color options in other parts of the world. The which shade of grey would you like? Or for an extra $500 you can get Red. We also have one shade of blue, but given limited supply good luck finding that with the trim and options you want.

    As a Canadian that could get a mustard yellow Prius for the equivalent of roughly $40k USD OTD before markup, count your blessings! Wraps are always an option.

    Production number don't equal sales numbers.....I hope the make a ton and only sell half. Then supply will finally exceed demand and prices will have the opportunity to drop. We vote with every dollar and I'm not voting with my car dollars for a few years....I like beer too but at $9.00 a can I'll stop drinking it.:cautious:

    First driving review (second half of video) in a snowy climate that I have found. No mention of handling in snow, but there is mention of MPG, at least. Comments on general handling and road noise as well.

    Two areas of concern:
    1) From this video, the steering wheel is in the way to see the speedometer and other things in the instrument cluster, and
    2) the new steering wheel controls are hard (impossible?) to use while wearing good winter gloves. I recently rented a car with cruse/etc on the steering wheel, it was very cold, so I wore gloves. But I had to remove my gloves every time I wanted to adjust the cruse control's set and resume. On my Gen 3 Prius, it's on a steering wheel stalk, so very easy to set, cancel, and resume even with thick gloves.

    Were the steering wheel controls capacitance buttons(VW did that), or just poor design for gloves?

    An interesting theory from Wayne Gerdes(Cleanmpg) about the display he had after the RZ press event. He suspects the Prius was suppose to get the steering yoke. The RZ has a similar dash display, and the yoke doesn't block it.

    Toyota's yoke is a lot more than a simple steering wheel swap like Tesla did. It is a by-wire system where the car wheels' turning rate progressively increases so the yoke doesn't need to be turned as much as the traditional wheel to go from straight to full turn. The shape also allows the dash display to be position for more comfortable viewing.

    It is an high tech advancement to car steering, and the Prius was once Toyota's tech display case. It once got features that were Lexus only, and the yoke is going to be an option on the RZ.

    1) Remember that the reviewer's camera is mounted on a harness on his chest(or he's holding it at that level). His eyes were about a foot higher and could easily see the instrument cluster above the steering wheel.
    2) I also prefer cruise control on a stalk, but I understand the problems car makers are facing. Standard cruise only needs four commands: on/off, set, resume, and cancel. A stalk can easily handle that. But when you add the commands that modern adaptive cruise needs, suddenly a car maker is faced with a choice: do you move all controls to a single location somewhere else, or do you split the controls into two locations and leave the basic controls on the stalk? I guess I prefer the second option, but I understand the issue.

    On the other hand, at least the heated steering wheel is standard on all trim levels except base. Perfect world would have cruise control functions added to the voice command system, but I understand how that could have serious issues(unintended commands, security, passenger abuse, etc.).



    *I have to say I'm feeling REALLY stupid right now. I've been driving my 2010 since it was almost new, and I never realized I could adjust the CC set speed incrementally by bumping the stalk up and down until just now(I was just double checking something in the manual for this post and saw it). And that was a feature I envied from other vehicles. Sigh.
