2023 Prius will arrive at the US dealers in late January and 2023 Prius Prime in late April. Let's dedicate this thread to those who get to own the first batch of these cars so that they can post their experiences, reviews, photos, and likes & dislikes.
Make it late February for 2023 Prius and late May for 2023 Prius Prime. Some PriusChat members have already got their Gen 5 Priuses. Perhaps they can share their pictures and experiences here.
I bought the Prius XLE for my daughter’s birthday gift yesterday 02/21/2023 (put in a deposit 01/21/2023) in Cutting-edge, it’s like dark silver to me and we like it. I got a chance to be on passenger and driver seats, so just a few things to post here: - The look is much better in person. - Low like a sport car with lower profile tires. - Drive punchy, quick and feel nothing like a slowly prius. - Drive surprising quiet. - Not a rear or all wheel drive but handling is pretty close to it. - Turning circle is small. - Seats are very comfortable, hugging the body pretty good. - I’m short 5,6 so seat height and headroom are plenty to me. Now the dislikes: - Manual seat for passenger. - Rear view is too small. - Brake lights are small I think, don’t quote me on this. That’s all for now.
It's my daughter's car. I'll tell her to check MPGs after using the first gas tank while engine not break-in yet.
I just texted my daughter, she didn't know how to check MPG yet. She told me she saw 50+ yesterday driving. I believe more members got their hands on one. I've received a lot of phone calls they have it coming and a few said they have it in their lots.
Unfortunately, daughters and sons are not hypermilers like us. Wait until I get my black Prius Prime SE. I will squeeze 80+ mpg out of that beast.
I put in an order for a 2023 Prius Prime XSE Premium ; I am first on the list. This will be my third Prius and actually 7th Lexus/Toyota hybrid. I traded my 2016 Prius for a 2022 RAV4 Hybrid Limited
Your daughter's birthday gift?! Wow...lucky daughter. And no, we will not make any assumptions about your financial status...nope, absolutely not...haha. Seriously though...I'm getting excited to see some real world MPG numbers from folks who really care about it ( i.e. - PriusChat'ers ).
Yes, I know lot of members have "gift" question. But I got $14K for my 2012 C4 she totaled and put 5K on credit card and the rest on check. Like I posted I'll reminder her to get the MPG before filling up the first gas tank. Must be bad because of the freezing cold, rain, wind here in SoCal and not yet breaking in the engine.
Still a heck of a gift. When my daughter's 2010 liftback was totaled, I got her an 8K 2012 Prius C....Darn good car, by the way. Luckily, I was able to snag it before used car prices really went through the roof though.
