I've been tinkering around with these NIMH models that had about 2000mah capacity from full charge to 6v. With 211mohm I tried low amp charging. No affect Repeated drain to 6v. No affect Drain to 5v. No affect Drain to 4v then to 3v. No affect Then I drained it to 3v fast then started discharge at the lowest slowest setting 0.1a discharge rate. I let the battery recover then repeated until the voltage rapidly fell after recovery. I charged it back up and was pleased with this discharge shown in the picture. I've done this to 6 modules so far without a problem. This is the first one I'm measuring the final capacity. Last check it was 31 mohm. I'm discharging to 3v again to try to bring down the ohms some more. We'll see what happens . Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The battery charger works automatically. I'm not afraid of spontaneous combustion. I am taking a few days off to maintain the battery pack in my 2011 prius. Mostly because I am waiting for a fuel pump screen. I'm getting low fuel pressure codes. Last time I had the spark plugs out they were all white showing lean conditions. I'm just betting the filter is clogged. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Have no time? Pay for a new battery every 200k. I just might go with the aftermarket lithium iron phosphate battery. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
