Elon Musk found not liable in Tesla 'Funding secured' tweet trial - The Washington Post Or maybe just not liable. But his defense of "not every one believes his Tweets" is not exactly a character reference.
hard to predict which way that was gonna go, but i was never convinced it wasn't overblown by stock shorters
Elon haters selectively read his tweets. The rest ask,”What is a tweet and why should I care?” Bob Wilson
From what I'd read, two guys got into a public quarrel. Too bad it wasn't at a bar so they could 'step outside' and settle it. I would caution that selective quotes often reveal more about the one making the selection. Omitting the whole suggests they should take their comments and quoting the other guy, "Stick it where the sun don't shine." For context, this quarrel was about how to save the kids trapped in a cave with rising water. I do not expect anyone to share my opinions about Elon. Like me, Elon sometimes steps on things we shouldn't. But when I drive my Tesla, watch booster rockets land, see the Vegas tunnel, use PayPal, and read about the Hornsdale Power Reserve, I am glad our world has had an Elon Musk. Bob Wilson
This was a criminal trial, where proof beyond a reasonable doubt is needed to establish guilt. He may not be so lucky in a follow-up civil trial where the burden of proof is lower, but you never know - the guy seems to be on a roll as far as court cases are concerned.
I am pretty sure it was a civil trial: Jury finds Elon Musk did not defraud Tesla investors with infamous 'funding secured' claim a lawsuit from Tesla shareholders Bob Wilson
