So the hits keep coming in my Prius side of the woods. I got the C1391 error last night. Luckily there is a TSB for it. Took it to the dealer today and they say it's covered. My car is a 2012 but it wasn't registered until 2013 and so it is under the 10 year from first use 150,000 mile limit. So lucky me that's two $3000 repairs that Toyota is going to cover including the previous inverter repair. Parts are unfortunately on back order though. Hopefully they show up pretty quick but who knows. TSB links for future people that have this issue: https://attachments.priuschat.com/attachment-files/2019/03/162709_T-SB-0024-19-PriusBrakes.pdf https://attachments.priuschat.com/attachment-files/2019/03/162713_ZJB_Phase_2_.pdf Also I'm at about 120k miles.
The best news there is not that there's a TSB—a technical service bulletin is just a document that explains some problem and how to fix it, but doesn't cover anybody's costs—the best news is that there's also a warranty extension (the service campaign ZJB, that second linked document above) so that, if you're inside the time and mileage limits, the dealer will fix the problem the way the TSB describes and also cover the cost of doing that.
So to finish up my story, car finally got fixed. The Toyota dealership in Virginia kept saying it was on back order but when I got back to Florida the dealer I took it to have the parts in stock. So they kept it for two days and gave me a Tacoma as a rental. I paid $44 for the first day but when it wasn't done yet they gave me a second day for free. So pretty happy, another expensive fix on my Prius that Toyota paid for!
