I cannot and will not defend the alleged keyer's behavior. Suggestion: leave a decal or placard on your vehicle with the non-emergency police contact. That should be (877) ASK-LAPD for your neck of the woods. If you make the tow option more convenient for your neighbors, you might get your desired result more often. Help them help you.
I bet a lot of tow jockeys don’t know how to properly tow unattended FWD vehicles unless they are backed into the parking spot. I bet even fewer know how to tow an AWD vehicle without damaging the transaxle.
Two good methods shown here starting at 1:25 (not everybody has a nice spectacle lift like this, some rigs still need to use the winch to drag it out first)
“Drag” is the operative word and I bet since the car is still in park in most real world scenarios those front wheels are skidding on the pavement. Can’t be good.
Oh, thank you. I thought the keying across our Elantra engine hood was intentional, but our marks aren't as deep as to be considered intentional. Just sombody, bending over strongly, sliding something across our hood with no intention to damage.
Yea, I've seen people take jacks to cars just near the driveway and pull it over the line so they can call a tow truck. Be careful of those neighborhoods, picking up car from impounds in the city is like 500-800 bucks.
