My gf is in the habit of leaving the fob in our car overnight in our garage. Lately, I’ve been going to work and the car is DOA.

Is it possible that the fob is draining the battery? The garage is separate from the house and untreated (it gets down to freezing this time of year) and I hate to say it, but besides this nothing else routine wise has changed. Should I get a new gf? ‍♂️

Mini girls don't do well with Prius they're prior habits their ex-boyfriends who drove Chevrolet American Iron whatever the case may be heavy foot blah blah blah. So generally I try not to put women in Prius until they've rode with me for a while and mine or something I want to see how they're going to drive the car. Then when I see what I need to see we do that or I get them a Corolla and if it's bad enough I get them an old rear wheel drive Corolla or Celica. Oh don't get me wrong My old Corollas and other Toyotas are in very nice condition like near showroom no kidding I live in the southeast USA My 85 celica GTS looks almost brand new. To the point where these millennials look at this car with the pop-up headlights and all that business and are like what the heck is that it's clean as all get up or what is it.have MA Supras too

NO. You should get a new battery.
Or find the door switch that is causing the dome light to stay ON.

Leaving the FOB in the car will cause some additional computer activity.......for a short while.
But that should NOT drain down a healthy battery over just 12 hours.

P.S. Remind your GF that if someone breaks into your garage, they will be able to drive the car away easily.

yes, test the battery voltage, and also the 12 volt battery.

and to keep a happy relationship, go out and grab the fob at night without telling her

Yes, the 12v battery may be old and weak. It doesn't take much to deplete the 12v battery, even if it's in the best of shape.

I’m no expert on a Gen 3, but my Gen 4 manual indicates that leaving the fob in the car can cause problems such as this. FWIW
As getting a new GF: if this size of problems is causing you to think that way: Do her a favor and find someone else who has less imperfections by your standards (good luck with that).
