    Hello guys!

I had been using a no brand HID (said 70w but feel like 35w) on my last 2010 prius with great results.

I sold that car a while ago and bought a 2013 prius v and thought the same hid will work great but did not.

when i first installed it both sides work fine. after a couple months one side stop working, so i thought might be the ballast or bulb went bad but not because when i switch them around it works! however, only one side can work but not both at the same time, doesnt matter how i switch it left or right, only one side can turn on.

while i was turning it on, the unable to start ballast make a few clicking noise then it stops. either left or right however i switch it, results are the same.

and i checked the 12v battery it seemed to have changed a few months before I bought the car and the reading is around 12.6 when everything turned off. currently don't have another set of 35w hid to test.

will anyone help me guess what is going on here? thanks a lot!

If you unplug just the working side bulb, will the non-working side work?

yes it will work, only one side at a time that’s why the other side I am usually halogen. Which looks weird

Looks like you installed a 70W HID in the place of 55W H11. I have tried H9 which is 65W (in my iQ). Relay harness may be what you need I agree…
