When I returned from a quick trip to the next county, I discovered that something had chipped a half dollar sized spot out of the paint on the front door pillar. The paint was still there, so I thought I could lift the broken pieces out and glue them back down. However, they fell apart in my fingers. So much for being deft! Toyota dealer touch up paint is so very expensive, and half the time they're out. I do want to repair the ugly wound. Is there an alternate place to buy touch up paint that will closely match my car's color? Mine's off white, I think they call it blizzard something or other. It's a 2010.
I bought touch up paint from an ebay seller that got a perfect color match for me. But he doesn't seem to carry your blizzard color. https://www.ebay.com/str/mrfixitparts Do an ebay search for your exact color match (check driver side door for code) and try to get a seller with over 99% positive rating.
Toyota has acknowledged that colour is defective, prone to lift, with several other of their vehicles. Unfortunately with Prius they say it’s not their problem. There’s several threads here on the subject; best to just use google to search, say: PriusChat blizzard pearl peeling flaking. We almost got BP when we bought in 2010; really glad we settled on an in-stock Classic Silver. I keep Toyota’s track record in mind when considering future purchase. Sadly though they’re all pretty larcenous.
The dealer had the Sea Green one, it was less then $15 a tube, but alas, no white. I'll just order it from aftermarket.
I wish I had known that, I wouldn't have bought a white one. It was used, and i didn't like the grey color they had on the lot. They had another white one that cost more. My bestie has a red 07 and has already had it re-painted.
