Hello, I’m currently having trouble with my 2011 Prius. So lately every once in awhile it will shake petty bad, I notice sometimes when I turn off the air it will stop, recently today that trick didn’t work. So I grabbed my computer and it shot me a code p0010. I looked up online but it is giving me several options, if someone could please help me in what they think it could be, that would be greatly appreciated. Also occasionally it seems to not want to start at all, and nothing electronic works. After a few minutes it eventually turns on I appreciate your help and Thank you!

Have you tried the youtube videos that claim to fix this trouble code in 4 minutes? Either that or try replacing the sensor...

I have the p0010 on my 2010 I changed the camshaft position sensor but it didn't help. Then while writing this I figured out that the "camshaft position actuator" does not exist and is really the "variable valve timing solenoid" (bastards) and I checked it and the wire is broken at the connector.

That code refers to an electrical open or an electrical short in the circuit controlling the intake valve timing.

I definitely had a broken wire on the variable valve timing solenoid. I changed the connector. The code is still showing p0010 after changing the broken connector. Does it take a while for the computer to remove the code. I tried clearing it but it remains.

The onboard computer runs a monitor to check for this continuously, on every trip. It sets a permanent code the very first time it encounters this issue. Once the problem is fixed, the car will clear the code automatically after it has been taken through 3 trips.

Thanks so much. The same thing happened to me when I change the maf. I kept trying to clear the code for it over and over lol but it wouldn't go away. Then later when I was checking another code I noticed the codes for the maf sensor voltage high and voltage low and another one has cleared by itself. I appreciate the help!
