not my videos but I do have an inverter to convert 12 volt dc to 120 volt ac for the fridge,tv router and laptop during storm season. I just hook it to the 12 volt and let the prius run with a fan in front to prevent overheating... I don't think hooking any generator to the circuit box is a good idea as it can back feed down the power lines if not hooked up correctly.
Nice to have backup power for sure. Not sure if you saw these: Son of PriUPS This one is excellent too: Using a Prius as a generator — northernarizona-windandsun
I'll be commercial, my company, I am reopening ConVerdant Vehicles, now called PlugOut Power. Make inverters for the traction battery.. More power.. 3kw from Prius.
SCE (southern California), and I suspect all such utilities, frown on any type of AC generator being wired into a house panel. It can be done, but they might require an active device to ensure that the main breaker (to the utility) is open if there is power coming from the generator. They don't care if devices are plugged into a generator with extension cords since doing that cannot fry their personnel working on the power lines.
As similar to any generator, if the house panel/wiring is to be used, the panel requires a transfer switch. However, if adhoc wiring is used [extension cords to the appliances], the appliances are unplugged from the house and then into the adhoc cords. [no panel or transfer switch needed].
