I have gone 92MPH accidentaly because I as just following the other cars and I reliased it and slowed down. How fast have you gone intentionaly or accidentaly?
The first day i got mine, i got really frusterated and i finally hit the road to go home and no cars were on it and i didnt realize i was going 96 until i heard my cell phone ring and saw a speed sign... eeeks.
No cars and no cops on the highway one day so I said floor it. 101mph B) I thinkI was showing around 25mpg with my foot on the floor at that speed.
top speed in the Prius? I tihnk I topped out at 75mph? I have done 90-100km/h in an 80 zone when I wasn't watching.
I have gone 105 MPH and stood still at the VERY same time!! Of course this was on the chassis dyno!! See avatar..
yawn ^_^ h34r: 108 when i was crossing a major bridge and drafting other vehicles, it did hit 110. Others have reported 110 also. I believe there is an older thread on this.
Indicated 98 mph in a classic Prius. That's not a record, is it? Seriously folks, exceeding posted limits is illegal and potentially quite hazardous. Prius is capable of a little better than 100 mph on level pavement and maybe we'd be better off just leaving it at that.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Locust43 @ Nov 25 2006, 10:57 PM) </div> 92 mph at 80 mpg with a tailwind.
92 MPH. A Mustang FLEW by me, closely followed by some other Toyota, when I was doing 80MPH. So I sped up because I thought if a cop was going to pull anyone over it would be one of those 2. After a few miles I slowed down because I could not see the Mustang anymore. About 5 miles ahead the guy that was driving had the Mustang pointed the wrong way down down an on-ramp with 2 cop cars by him and his head on the trunk and in handcuffs.

Motor Trend plublished a 2 year review of a 2004 Prius, which was their car of the year in 2004, and said they experienced instability at higher speeds, but didn;t specify the exact speeds.
I did about 92mph for a very short time once. I was in Canada and they tend to drive WAY over the limit. I usually drive at 65mph on the freeway (MI limit is 70mph).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(bb513 @ Nov 27 2006, 11:08 AM) </div> It was on the Freeway, mostly straight aways, there were slight curves. I didn't notice any differences that I could tell. It was a clear day. Not hot or cold.
