@260k and original battery, first time ever it failed to start due to traction battery. I thought it's the 12v but it was not, all the lights and meters on the dash were not reset. The mpg not bad, getting good like 45-50 in warm seasons and 40-45 in colder times. It's garage kept but not driven much as past thanks to(!) the pandemic changed working style. Also we are having early winter here in IN, 15-20 degrees for a couple days. Inside garage 45-50 So my point is the options: 1- should drive more 2- recondition cells 3- get a Li-ion pack The 4th would be selling it but right now not a good time to sell and buy. Wanna keep it as long as possible or a few years at least Any thoughts and suggestions? Thanks! Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
No lights, everything works fine. But yes I forgot to run DrPrius, even though got a bluetooth OBD for that. Thanks for the reminder, I ll do it first Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Drive it more. Somewhere past 300k then maybe it will begin showing codes, until that happens nothing else can be done. I have tried quizzing the service department at my dealership, but they were not forthcoming with any advice.
Just did Life Expectancy test, it said %68.41 left but ICE turned on while keeping needle in the green. I guess that's why it said the result gave compromise Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
reading your first post, i don't see any indicator that you have a traction battery problem. if the car would not make ready, and you're not getting any dash lights, get a load test on the 12v.
You're in a good position to get this battery pack charged & balanced and deep cycled so you can sell it when you upgrade to a https://projectlithium.com/?ref=9qLPw pack means you have alot of your costs covered...
One reply said test your 12v while another reply said buy lithium traction battery with my referral code. I’ll say... buy an $65,000 EV!!!
Can you do that basic test, the one with the car off, and post a screen grab? The one that shows the bar graph of voltage for each block, the resistances below and some overall data at the top. just demo mode:
Sure here is the screenshot after ICE shut down from cold start. Also saved the entire logs for that interval View attachment DOC-20221120-WA0001.pdf Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The resistance values are getting up there: could maybe benefit from disassemble and clean of all connectors and bus bars? What about swapping blocks around, or is that detrimental in any way?
I have a similar concern: just bought 2013 v with 103.000, wondering how to check the condition of the battery?
