I'm missing the HD Radio option in my 2022 AWD Prius, does anyone know of a way to enable it? I'm current on updates, please help. Thanks!
As @Hidyho kindly noted, the sales brochure (PDF) doesn’t mention HD Radio, either as standard equipment or as an option. Xperi (formerly iBiquity), licensor of the HD Radio technology, has a page about new Toyota cars, which shows “Standard Feature” for other models but not for Prius. The Multimedia System Owner’s Manual (PDF) for the 7-inch head unit does discuss HD Radio reception on pages 67–69, and it shows a version of the Options screen (as in your photo) with “HD Radio AM” and “HD Radio FM” settings, but there’s also an asterisk and a note, “This function is not made available in some countries or areas.” Those areas might well include the U.S. mainland, if Toyota decided not to include the feature because of limited availability of integrated circuits, for example. The Repair Manual (more info) has a similar caveat and says nothing about how to enable the HD Radio feature if it’s not present. @bisco's suggestion to ask the dealer is a good one: if nothing else, the service department could open a case with Toyota’s Technical Assistance System, the dealer-only support line, to confirm whether the lack of HD Radio capability is a condition that could be repaired, or if it’s just how your car was built.
