Has anyone found a Wireless CarPlay adapter that works in the 2020 Prius (or any non-Android auto head unit for that matter)? I just found an adapter that says it works but it just feel sketchy and is not exactly cheap. I wonder if anyone has actually tried such an adapter.
I have this one, and have used it for more than two years now on our 2020 XLE AWD-e (small nav screen) without issue. https://cplay2air.com/ There’s a slightly longer delay for CarPlay to show up, since first the adapter connects to your car, and then your phone connects to the adapter. it’s 99.9% flawless. Maybe five times max it hasn’t recognized my phone or the car didn’t recognize the adapter at startup, in which case I simply disconnect it from the USB port in the car and reconnect it. I have it double-sided taped to the console by the USB port, so you can’t even see it.
For me, carlinkit is ok, i have a carlinkit 3.0, and my nephew just got their carplay screen. I saw a lot of people on the Internet saying that cplay2air is a reseller of carlinkit, so I bought them directly from carlinkit.
Presumably they don’t sell it on Amazon. I’m a big Amazon person, but went with cplay2air because people I know have had good experiences with it. tho frankly I imagine that all these types of devices use the same core chipsets.
I will say that this looks identical to my cplay2air U2W-Carlinkit Official Website | Smart Driving Safe Traveling
