Hi there, PriusChatters! It has been a little while since I've been able to be active on the forums but I have been working hard developing my plans to expand the hybrid online community. The short-term goal includes increasing PriusChat's features and capabilities and the evolution of the PriusChat Shop. I'm excited to say that the demand and growing traffic of the Shop has led to the expansion of the PriusChat Team. Nichole will be coming on full time with the PC Shop to increase accessibility and product variety. I'm also enthused that in the very near future we'll be adding a customer service line for you to call in with PriusChat-related queries. New payment methods are on the horizon, as well. Other upcoming additions to PriusChat include a new, much-improved Knowledge Base section (think wiki) and more items in the Shop at special discounted prices, to name a few. Also, keep an eye out for something big to happen in the next few months. I'll leave it at that for now. I hope everyone's doing well and I look forward to becoming re-assimilated into this group that I've missed so much - special thanks to Evan, tag, and Tony for their continued help in moderating PriusChat.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TonyPSchaefer @ Nov 22 2006, 09:16 PM) </div> \\ Danny...Iordered $200 plus dollars worth of parts before reading all of the horror stories from your customers. I actually thought the BTplate would be here before my trip tomorrow A.M. Are we going to have a problem here? I can be very persistant when I think I'm being taken for a ride. (excuse the pun) PLEASE contact me a nd let me know when I will get my parts?? Virg Stewart, Attorney at law, Lincoln NE
Virg, The reason it's a big deal that Nichole is taking on the Store full-time is that Danny has been running this site in addition to his full-time job. When he started the site in February of '04, there wasn't a huge demand for an online forum. Those few of us who wanted to buy things for our cars found that when we worked together, we could get group pricing. Danny's efforts unified our orders and provided assistance exceeding what we could do alone. Since then, the site has gone from a handful of members to 17,500. And since Danny is merely the intermediary, he can't control when the manufacturer will actual construct the parts and ship them. But as the store owner, he catches the grief. Those of us who have been with him since the beginning and have seen the overwhelming nature of an international forum feel horrible about this but are helpless to do anything about it. Having Nichole take it on full-time and the support line should alleviate some of those issues. I can offer no suggestions or assistance but just wanted to explain what I see as a really honest attempt to help people that turned overwhelming and troublesome. In the end, I have no doubt that you will receive your parts. On a side side, my wife's from Lincoln and the next time we're in town visiting the in-laws, I'll spring for lunch!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Danny @ Nov 22 2006, 06:19 PM) </div> Now that's a great idea!
glad to see you still exist, Danny looking forward to seeing your plans come to fruition, whatever they may be.
Cool beans! I like surprises. Danny, just wanted to let you know I think this is a great site. I've learned so much about the Prius before even taking possession of the car. (Which hopefully will be this weekend). This site has been a wealth of information that I plan on continuing to use indefinately. Thanks!
lol. Nice to hear you're still around. What happened to Hybrid Scoop?? Looking forward to the changes and updates.
Still waiting after all these months for the "lots of free stuff" you promised for sending a donation to PriusChat. I could have lived without it but since you promised.....
This is indeed a great site. I tell other Prius owners - there are 4 others where I work - about it. H#ll, I even tell Prius people in parking lots I see about the site.
Virg, we've sent you an email regarding your order. Please check your email when you have a moment. Galaxee - when's the next Triangle meet?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(sonny @ Nov 22 2006, 08:40 PM) </div> patience sonny. your parts will come. because of the Nov special there was a huge run on the BT plates and your shipment will be in about 1st or 2nd week of Dec. there was a post explaining this. search using BT plate as a term, you should see it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Danny @ Nov 23 2006, 10:04 AM) </div> attendance was so low at the last few meetings i organized, that i figured there wasn't enough local interest to continue but do let us know if you're in the area
I hate to throw a sour note into the middle of this little "love fest", but where in the real world would you find a cheering section applauding rotten service, extremely slow delivery, and non-existent communication. Danny, in the real world, a "middleman" as you call yourself is a retailer. Retailers buy products, put them in inventory and await orders. They don't wait for a bunch of orders and then place an order with the manufacturer. No matter how busy you are, there should be time to answer customer questions, even if there is an initial automated response acknowledging receipt of an inquiry. There are complements where they are due. PriusChat is a great website, with great moderators. Invision has a wonderful piece of software which, I believe, is 50% of the success of the site. But, the site is the PriusChat Shoppe's own personal fiefdom. And, up to now it has been the one big sour note in the whole equation. Danny, I wish you the best in expanding your abilities to properly service your customer base. Don't, however, make it sound like the "second coming". This is what you should have done from very close to the beginning. Sermon over!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(syclone @ Nov 23 2006, 12:10 PM) </div> Sounds like a true New Yorker post thru and thru. What a maroooonnnn.....!
Danny & Nichole - Please include us Europeans in the Shop's development. There are somethings I'd have bought from Sigma and Prius Hoods but they declined to post to the UK - so I had to make my own 'bespoke' bumper protector, armrest and centre console covers. But I got my BT plate off Brian OK
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Jim B. @ Nov 25 2006, 04:05 PM) </div> Just what this forum needed - another personal attack. Rock on brother!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Alnilam @ Nov 23 2006, 01:31 AM) </div> I'm in the same boat, I also donated money after reading about the free perks that would be sent. However, I never received nothing, nada, zilch.....BUT< you can bet my money was spent....... SO, how about making good on this ordeal, after all, its been several months, OR< better yet, just return my donation and we'll call it even.........
