Last week I had low flow in hybrid Coolant. Parked car waited for pump. Replaced pump and coolant with fresh.
Today checked coolant reservoir was empty. No Sign of coolant leak outside so i Put coolant in. Wondering where it might have gone I opened fill for transmission I had fluid coming out. Have the car jacked up a bit higher then when I filled. I drained the transmission coolant. Smells funny and kinda black. Not sure how I can tell if there is water in it.
If I have to replace transmission any tips would be appreciated.
I've seen them in yards close to me for fair price.
Here is a look at the oil.

How much transmission fluid came out about that much. Somewhere around a gallon. IMG20221016125538.jpeg

If transmission had water intrusion the fluid would look like a strawberry milk shake. The fluid you showed looks like no water got in. However, when was the last time it was changed? Fluid looks burnt.

It gets dirty like that it's super high mileage I would say maybe your transmission might have been changed once you know while it was in warranty or something maybe maybe not so just change it and go on about your business It looks just like my Gen 2 fluid at bowl 230 some odd 1,000 240 ish mine was actually blacker than that didn't think anything of it just changed it and didn't use Toyota branded either used to think it's Castrol or somebody's multi CVT fluid that covers the Prius supposedly so it's been in now about 25,000 mi and it's still dark red so far as I'm concerned I'm good to go it's not a pressure fluid it's not a pressure transmission or like a regular automatic so should be okay
